Joy Comes in the Morning

Scripture Focus

'For his anger lasts only a moment, but his favor lasts a lifetime; weeping may stay for the night, but rejoicing comes in the morning. ' Psalms 30:5 (https://my.bible.com/bible/111/PSA.30.5)

As Christians, we sometimes go through periods of testing. A time of testing always seems like a never-ending ordeal. God sometimes allows a time of testing in our lives to strengthen our faith. When our faith is tested, it allows us to trust in God to provide for and comfort us. If we never went through struggles (whatever they may be), how could we truly trust God to help us? We also need to remember that a time (or season) of testing will not last forever. We will see the end of our testing and trials. We need to continue in prayer. We need to trust God and move forward with the things that He wants us to do.

When we read the verse above, we remember that it is hard to trust God when all you see is bad news. However, God is saying that our sorrow (i.e. our testing/trials/troubles/struggles) may last for a time, but joy (the end of our testing) will surely come. We will go through difficult times, (like this pandemic), but it will end. God wants us to know that He will bring deliverance at the right time. Let us continue to trust in God, even in our difficulties.

Let us pray.

Heavenly father,

We thank you for every person reading this blog right now. We pray that you would fill them with Your Hope that sorrow may last for the night but Joy will come in the morning. We pray for You to be our Deliverer, Protector and Defender. We need you more than ever as we live in an uncertain and unprecedented time. We pray for every reader of this blog. We pray that You would protect them from this pandemic. We pray for complete restoration: spiritual, emotional, mental, physical and financial. We especially remember and pray for those who have lost loved ones. We pray that you would heal their broken hearts. We pray for Your Comfort and Peace to be given in abundance to them. We surrender all our burdens and concerns into Your Hands. We pray for Your Kingdom to come and Your Will to be done.

We ask all these things in Jesus name,

Amen.

If anyone has not received Jesus as their Lord and Savior and wishes to do so, please say the prayer below:

Heavenly Father,

Please forgive me for my sins.

I invite you Jesus into my heart as my Lord and Savior.

Fill me with Your Holy Spirit. Help me to follow You.

I ask this in Jesus name.

Amen
