'For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord , “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. ' Jeremiah 29:11 (https://my.bible.com/bible/111/JER.29.11)
'And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose. ' Romans 8:28 (https://my.bible.com/bible/111/ROM.8.28)
God can turn around the events of the last 9 months. Prior to the pandemic, we were running on a hamster wheel. Like the hamster on the hamster wheel, we did not achieve much. We were merely running in place. As a result, we became exhausted, sick and burned out.
We needed to get off the hamster wheel. We needed to reevaluate what is important. The last 9 months have allowed us to realize that we need God. We realized that we cannot deal with anything in our own strength and ability. During the last 9 months, we may have wondered, “What is God’s plan in the middle of all this?” Even though we may not understand it, God has plans for our lives. God’s plan for our lives are not intended to bring our end, but rather to start a new, great beginning.
God wants to start a new, great beginning for us. He wants a new beginning with things in their proper perspective. We obtain a proper perspective when He is our first priority. When God is our first priority, we follow His leading. This often will run counter to what others and culture may dictate. We will face opposition to following God’s plan for our lives. When we face opposition to following God's plan, we must remember that God has better plans for us than what we were able to achieve on our own.
The ongoing pandemic has been unsettling. So let's remember the promises of Jeremiah 29:11- that God has plans for a hope and future. God's plans are not for our harm. Let us trust in His plans for us, plans for a hope and future.
Let us pray.
Heavenly Father,
We thank you for everyone reading this blog right now. We pray that they would remember that they have a hope and a future. We pray for the fulfillment of Your plan in their lives.
Give us Your grace during this pandemic. Give us the faith to trust You. We know that You will not allow testing in our lives that we cannot handle. We also know that every time period of testing will end. We believe that you are going to carry us through this pandemic. We pray that we may remember the plan that You have, the plan to give us a hope and future.
Help us to never forget the lessons we have learned during this pandemic.
We love you Lord.
We ask all these things in Jesus name,
Amen.
