We need to be connected to God. We need to communicate and talk to God throughout our day. We communicate with God through prayer. Our prayers do not have be long or particularly eloquent. Short, heartfelt prayers to God is how we stay connected to Him. In the verse above, Jesus compares us to branches that are connected to a vine. A branch that is cut off from the main vine cannot grow and will die. If we (as the branches) do not remain connected to the vine (Jesus), how can we expect to grow fruit (demonstrate effective witness) in our walk as believers? We need to remain connected to Jesus to grow and to be effective as believers. Jesus needs to be a part of our daily lives. Our daily connection with Jesus will give us the Grace, Power and Strength to live and be effective witnesses for God.
We may not be able to pray out loud as we may be at work or interacting with co-workers. In this setting, we can journal a quick prayer to God on our phones-asking for His Guidance, Strength, Help and Wisdom throughout our day. We can connect briefly with God in the morning, afternoon, nighttime or whenever possible. Stay connected to God at all times. No matter how you feel, never stop praying, never stop talking to Him or reading His word. Keep the lines of communication open!!
We also must remember communicating with God is a two-way street. Give God a chance to speak to you. This will require that you listen quietly. When God speaks to you, write it down in your journal. When God speaks, it is often in a soft voice. It is easy to miss God speaking to you if you are preoccupied and worried. We need to communicate with God so that we are not preoccupied and worried about things. Remember, He wants to speak to His people. He wants to help you carry your burdens. We were never meant to do this alone. We need to remain in Him and stay connected to the vine at ALL TIMES!! God is saying, “Talk to Me, I am here for YOU!!”

Heavenly Father,
We thank you for every reader of this blog. We pray that we stay connected to You. We pray that everyone would communicate with You about all of their problems and troubles. We pray and surrender all our burdens to You. We thank You Lord for Loving us so much. We thank You for caring about all of our problems and troubles. We pray for You to Strengthen us and to be with us during this difficult time. We pray for Healing, Restoration, Grace, and Protection. We surrender all these requests to You.
We ask all these things in Jesus name.
